Head of Finance (m/f/d)

NEX Aero is building a new class of heavy lift cargo drones, and we are still early in the process. The product has not been launched. We are defining requirements, working with partners, and shaping the first real version of the aircraft. This stage requires structure, clear thinking, and steady coordination across teams. 

We are looking for a Head of Finance to take full ownership of all financial operations and strategic planning in our growing aviation start-up. From building the financial foundations to enabling bold decisions, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of autonomous logistics. 

At NEX Aero, finance isn’t just reporting numbers; it’s about empowering a mission with clarity, foresight, and resilience. 

• Own and lead all financial operations, from accounting and controlling to forecasting and long-term planning
• Build the financial architecture that powers our growth, from early-stage agility to scale-up discipline
• Ensure compliance, transparency, and financial precision, even in high-complexity environments
• Drive cash flow strategy, investment readiness, and capital efficiency across the business
• Act as a strategic partner to leadership, turning data into action and insight into impact

• Proven experience in finance, accounting, or controlling, ideally in deep-tech
• A sharp, analytical thinker with a builder’s mindset, structured, fast, and resourceful
• Comfortable navigating between big-picture strategy and hands-on execution
• A confident communicator who can translate numbers into narratives, with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Passionate about solving real-world challenges and building financial systems that enable meaningful progress
• Strong communication skills and fluency in German and English
