Working Student Aircraft Structural Simulations (m/f/d)

About the role

We are looking for a working student to support the preliminary development of our cargo drone. This is a hands-on role focusing on aircraft level structural simulations and concept design.

Your responsibilities

Perform structural FEM simulations using commercially available solvers
Support the design team with stress and stiffness assessment of various structures and components.
Evaluate design changes and perform optimization of the existing drone architectures
Document and communicate FEM results with the design team
Perform / support structural related testing

Your profile

Currently undertaking a master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
Major in the field of structural mechanics, lightweight structures / Computer Aided Engineering or similar
In depth knowledge and experience in numerical simulation methods
Basic understanding of aircraft structures
Experience with FEM software is a must (Altair suite, Ansys, Abaqus or similar)
Hands on attitude with an ability to work and deliver independently
Ability to summarize and present the work done
Strong organizational skills are a plus
Experience in a relevant student project is a plus
Strong communication skills and fluency in English (German or other languages are a plus)
