About the role

We are looking for a working student to support the preliminary development of our cargo drone. This is a hands-on role focusing on aircraft level structural simulations and concept design.

Your responsibilities

  •  Perform structural FEM simulations using commercially available solvers  
  • Support the design team with stress and stiffness assessment of various structures and components. 
  • Evaluate design changes and perform optimization of the existing drone architectures 
  • Document and communicate FEM results with the design team  
  • Perform / support structural related testing  

Your profile

  • Currently undertaking a master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering 
  • Major in the field of structural mechanics,  lightweight structures / Computer Aided Engineering or similar 
  • In depth knowledge and experience in numerical simulation methods   
  • Basic understanding of aircraft structures  
  • Experience with FEM software is a must (Altair suite, Ansys, Abaqus or similar) 
  • Hands on attitude with an ability to work and deliver independently  
  • Ability to summarize and present the work done
  • Strong organizational skills are a plus 
  • Experience in a relevant student project is a plus  
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English (German or other languages are a plus)
